Alessi Augh Expanding Trivet

The Augh! Trivet Extendable was created by Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi for the Italian design label Alessi.Alessi was launched in 1921, creating original design work in metal and glass. Since then, the brand has become recognised for its contemporary and often quirky home accessories that fuse art with industry. Donato D'Urbino and Paolo Lomazzi were two pioneers of both 20th-century pop art and mass-production. Their iconic work was at the forefront of Italian design and can be seen in museums across the world.Like all the work of the design duo, the Augh! Trivet Extendable has a humorous quality, fitting right into the pop art mould, as well as being a totally functional accessory for the kitchen or dining room. The interlocking parts make a bundle that takes up very little room, but when pulled apart they turn into a bright and sunny shape. Although industrial in design, with its metalwork and exposed rivets, it is so attractive when extended that it would also make an eye-catching wall decoration. The Augh! Trivet Extendable is made from mirror-polished stainless steel and has the dimensions of 18 x 10 cm when extended.
